ABOUT FRIENDS OF THE PRESERVE

Friends of The Preserve was created to support the educational goals of The Preserve. Friends of The Preserve is a non-profit 501 (c) (3) and collects donations to support the educational programs and community outreach at The Preserve. The Elephant Experience and Animal Expedition are hosted by The Preserve and receive no funding from the Friends of The Preserve.

Friends of The Preserve was formed by those who wish to preserve and protect the bond between a family of remarkable elephants and the people who have been their companions and caretakers for the past four decades.

Friends of The Preserve provide the means to share the wonder of the animals at The Preserve through our outreach programs and education.

ELEPHANTS’ NATIVE HABITATS ARE UNDER CONSTANT THREAT

Elephants are forced to compete with humans for resources, causing human/elephant conflict where the elephants pay the price. Combined with security threats from poaching, these environmental challenges create a world where the only future for elephants is in managed care. Elephants’ survival depends on nurturing from us, their guardians, and their ability to touch peoples’ lives. Elephants in human care play a significant role in saving this endangered species from extinction.
